Ellwangen - Basilica St. Vitus interior view
Baden-Wuerttemberg

The three-aisled pillar basilica St. Vitus, one of the most important Romanesque vaulted buildings in Swabia, impresses on the Ellwanger market square. From 1737 to 1741 the interior was remodeled baroque. From the Romanesque period, only three rooms remain: the vestibule, the Michael chapel and the crypt.
